July 2007
Donation
As a direct spin off from the production of the calendars a Casino Night with Auction was held at the Crown Inn at High Newton, Cumbria on the 14th July. Models Yazmin, Rukhsana and Monica gave their time to be croupiers for the evening. A good evening was had by all and
£1,005.16 was raised for Dumfriesshire and Cumbria Greyhound Rescue. Thank you so much for everyone who supported the event and made it such a super evening. |

2008 Calendars
All the photography work for our three styles of 2008 calendars is now complete and we are already receiving orders, which is wonderful. As soon as the calendars arrive from the printers we will send them to everyone who has already ordered so they will be the first to receive them. |

May 2007
Donation
This month we gave Dumfriesshire and Cumbria Greyhound Rescue a cheque for £661.55 to help towards kennels, food and vet bills for the dogs as a result of selling our three styles of 2007 calendars. By reducing the price of the calendars from £7.49 for 2006 to £5.75 for 2007 we sold an awful lot more, which is bound to increase awareness of what nice pets greyhounds make as more calendars are being displayed. May we thank everyone who purchased calendars for helping to achieve this result and look forward to your continued support for the 2008 versions. |

Greyhound Rescue Donations
As in the past all the profits from the calendar sales will be going to Greyhound Rescue but from this point on instead of simply giving a donation from other items sold on the site we are giving 10% so people purchasing from us will know exactly how much they are donating.
As volunteers working with greyhound rescue none of our time is billed thus keeping costs to a minimum and greyhound rescue donations to a maximum. The time we are talking about includes taking the photographs, choosing and preparing the pictures for the calendars, cards and prints, all the sales and marketing work involved and time involved with packing and posting of items.
Delivery Charges
Although the postal rates across the board rose on the 1st April we are not raising our delivery charges.
Wholesale Purchases
Now we have a number of items for sale on the site we hope even more retail outlets, rescue centres and other establishments wishing to sell our products in their outlets and at events will contact us. In addition to reducing the delivery charges to our customers by not raising them in line with the new postal rate rises on the 1st April we are establishing a new policy concerning carriage for wholesale purchases of cards and calendars within the UK. In doing this we intend to keep delivery charges to a minimum with a maximum charge of £10.00 for cards and £12.50 for calendars making it more beneficial for our wholesale customers to purchase larger or more variable quantities. |

February 2007
9 new cards and 2 new purchase options.
We have just received a new birthday card for the site along with a number of new blank cards and our first Get Well Soon card.
Now that we have a few styles including a couple of sunsets and a harbour view for those who have friends and relatives who are not dog lovers we have included a Pick 'n' Mix option. This option allows people to make up their own packs of cards. Packs of 5, 10 or 20 cards can be made up using the styles and quantities the individual wants. Just let us know which cards you want and how many of each and we will send them you.
The other new option is our Message 'n' Send option which allows you to order a card, send us the address to send it to along with your message and we will write the message and send it for you. |

Donation to Dumfriesshire Greyhound Rescue (DGR)
As a direct 'spin off' from the calendar production we dove to London this month to meet Yazmin. Yazmin is one of the models in the calendar and does a lot towards raising funds for DGR and knows Tony Brown of F8 Glamour Club.
During an amateur photography holiday in the Algarve last September Tony raised £300 for the dogs in DGR's care so we met him to collect the cheque, for which we are very grateful.
Tony incidentally, also sponsers Katie who came to us last July aged 12 years and, because of her age, she is being long term fostered by DGR.
Here is Jenny Stott with Tony Brown and Yazmin on the right.

2007 calendars and Greeting Cards
The three styles of calendars for 2007 are now available, the paper quality is higher and we've dropped the price from £7.49 to £5.75 each, which will make it harder to reach the profit and improve on last year's donation so we hope to sell plenty in order to break even. In calculating the donation figure none of the time Stuart and I spent taking the photographs, preparing them and putting the calendars together will be included, neither will our time for the sales and marketing of the calendars and although we pay the models expenses for doing the photo shoots they are all happy to accept a lower fee than they would normally accept for doing such a shoot. In additon to the calendars we've also produced three high quality A5 Christmas Cards to compliment the calendars and a donation from the sales of each will also be included with our cheque to Dumfriesshire Greyhound Rescue at their next AGM. |

Production of calendars for 2007
As a result of listening to our customer's comments we took photographs to produce not one but three styles of calendars for 2007 so as to appeal to a much wider market. 'Just Greyhounds',' Greyhounds and Lifestyle' (similar to last year) and 'Greyhounds - sexy and safety', which was shot in a 'lads mag' style using a health and safety theme. It's been hard work getting the photographs together and now its time to choose the ones we want and put the calendars together. |

Donation from calendar sales
Following the sales of our calendar we are pleased to announce that we handed a cheque over to Dumfriesshire Greyhound Rescue at their AGM for £577.00, which represented the calendar's profits. It wasn't as much as we hoped but it wasn't bad for our first attempt. |

Calendar Launch
Exactly five months to the day since the first photo shoot began the launch of the ‘Long Legged Beauties' Rescued Greyhound Calendar 2006 took place at Cartmel Racecourse in Cumbria. It was held with the aim of raising funds for Dumfriesshire Greyhound Rescue and to increase awareness that greyhounds make lovely pets. The launch produced massive publicity for both DGR and Greyhound Rescue worldwide because the |
|
| calendar appeared in over forty newspapers, several TV programmes including Sky News for more than two weeks and on numerous web sites. Four of the models featured in the calendar took to the catwalk (or should it be dogwalk!) with the dogs for the launch. |

February 2005
As you may know we foster greyhounds for Dumfriesshire Greyhound Rescue and wanted to do more to help raise awareness and funds for additional kennels, vets bills and other costs associated with homing new dogs. After much thought we came up with the idea of a calendar. We didn't want just an ordinary greyhound calendar because that wouldn't make news and we wanted to increase awareness that greyhounds make lovely pets as well as raising funds - we came up with the idea of a calendar with greyhounds and pretty girls. All the photographs would be taken by Stuart (click here to see his portfolio web site) and the pictures would include models posing with our dogs and some of our many fostered greyhounds. We came up with the title 'Long Legged Beauties' (the dogs not the models) and the hours and hours of photography work began to get the calendar ready.
