All prints and canvases are produced to order because of the number of images available. A4 giclee prints are normally produced and delivered to the address you specifiy within approx 7 working days but please allow up to 28 days for everything larger than A4. The reason being we are required to view a proof from our printers prior to them printing the larger items so as to ensure we are happy with the colour and layout etc. Although this adds a small delay to you receiving your print or canvas we feel it is an important stage of the printing process and in most cases the proof will be sent along with your print or canvas for you to frame as you so wish. It is our intention, however, to get your order to you as speedily as we can.
Choosing prints
Although our gallery of prints includes topics such as greyhounds, animals, sunsets, landscapes, flowers, plants, architecture, macro, abstracts and many others along with our limited edition, glamour and fine art print gallery if you see any photographs on this web site, the photostott.com or ourgreyhounds.co.uk web sites that Stuart has taken and you would like them turning into a prints please contact us as we are more than happy to turn it into a print or canvas for you. Should you want a print in a style or size other than those listed or want an image for another purpose such as for advertising or publication purposes please contact us so we can discuss your requirements in more detail.
What is a Giclee Print?
A Giclee (pronounced zhee-clay) is a high-resolution reproduction done using a special large format printer and produced from digital scans of existing images and artwork.
Giclees can be printed on any number of media, from canvas to watercolor paper to vinyl, to transparent acetates and we can provide quotations for materials other than those quoted above. Giclees are superior to traditional lithography in nearly every way. The colours are brighter, last longer and are so high-resolution they are virtually 'continuous tone' rather than tiny dots. The range or 'gamut' of colour for giclees is far beyond that of lithography and the details are crisper. Lithography tends to use tiny dots of four colours to fool the eye into seeing various hues and shades whereas giclees use six colours of light fast (fade resistant) pigmented inks producing a wider colour gamut and the ability to use various materials to print on.
Giclee prints may be mounted on foam board, MDF or foamex at extra cost.
What is a Stretched Canvas?
A box canvas is a print of canvas stretched ove a wooden frame.
Delivery
A delivery charge is added to each order placed. The charge depends upon the item and whereabouts in the world it is being shipped to. Due to the high standard of the products they are packed, handled and delivered using either the Royal Mail or a courier standard to ensure their protection during delivery.
